Willa Dean Beaver Morrow, 90, of Statesville, walked into Heaven with both legs on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House after fighting the good fight.
Willa Dean was born on April 3, 1933, in Iredell County to the late Ernest and Hazel Lippard Beaver. She was a graduate of Celeste Henkle High School and went on to marry her late husband, Max Brevard Morrow, on April 16, 1949. Willa Dean was a faithful member of New Bethany Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.
She worked at J.C. Penney’s for many years and not only was she a caregiver for her family, but for many other families in the community. She enjoyed being a volunteer at Davis Hospital and at the Gordon Hospice House.
Those left to cherish Willa Dean’s memory include her children, Dale Morrow (Sandy) and Narriman Ladd (Dean) and her grandchildren; Tara Hoppes (Jon), Heather Walker (Randy) and Jessica Ladd. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Justin Hoppes, Jay Hoppes, Savannah Walker, Julie Hoppes, Brayden Walker and Jaret Hoppes. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Bobby Beaver.
Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, November 22, at New Bethany Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery, Rev. Bill Mason will officiate. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:45pm.
