Wiley Wallace Obituary
Wiley Dwight Wallace, 86, of Statesville, passed away, Friday, August 5, 2022 at the VA Hospital in
Salisbury.
Dwight was born in Iredell County, November 24, 1936 the son of the late Andrew Gaston Wallace and
Viola Denny Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a graduate of Union Grove High School and was retired after 39
years of faithful service to the Statesville Record and Landmark in the Printing Department. On June 7,
1958 he married Sylvia JoAnn Bustle Wallace, together they shared 64 years of marriage. He served in
the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Dwight was proceeded in death by his brother; Henry Wallace (Connie), son;
Andy Charles Wallace, and 2 sisters; Ruth Brown (John), and Nellie Myers (Bill), and brother in law; Bill
Cashatt
Those left to cherish Mr. Wallaces’ memory include his wife Sylvia JoAnn Wallace, his daughter; Susan
W. McNeely (Dean), sister; Juanita Cashatt, son; Darin Dwight Wallace (Tanya), and his grandchildren;
Jonathan McNeely and Daniel McNeely.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at South River
Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm at South River Baptist Church, with Dr. Chris
Thompson and Reverend Robert Livingston officiating.
Memorials can be made to South River Baptist
Church Cemetery Fund, Purple Heart Homes or any Hospice organization.
