November 28, 1924 - January 31, 2018 Ralph Wesley Jones, 93, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the NC State Veteran's Home in Salisbury. Ralph was born in Cleveland Ohio on November 28, 1924 and graduated from Euclid High School. He served in the Pacific during WWII as an Aviation Radio Man Second Class and was decorated with the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Ralph started his own window decorating business in Ohio and eventually relocated to New Jersey becoming the National Sales Promotion Manager of National Distillers of New York, NY. After moving to Hawley, PA with his wife Cindy in 1981, he again formed his own company, Ralph W. Jones Assocs., Inc. In 1993 he created and operated a home-based big game hunting business, "Bighorn Permit Service," which he presided over until his stroke in 2009. After living in northeastern Pennsylvania, Ralph and his wife Cindy moved to Mooresville in 2007 where they both became members of New Perth ARP Church, Troutman. In his youth, Ralph enjoyed sailing on Lake Erie, photography, and building his career. At home he enjoyed his family, home improvement projects of all types, studying his Bible and spending time with his beloved canine companions. He enthusiastically embraced home computers and taught himself graphic design on his Macintosh computer in the early 1990’s. Ralph is survived by his wife Cindy (Kuiper), their daughter Vanessa Ivanitz and son-in-law Jason of Chicago, IL; daughter Linda Evans and and son-in law Tim Evans of Mooresville, NC; son J. Wesley Jones of Sisters, OR; and daughter Cindi Garner of Clermont, FL; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at New Perth A.R.P Church in Troutman on Sat., Feb. 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Hazen officiating. Navy Veteran Funeral Honors will be accorded.
