Margaret Alice (Stewart) Campbell

Margaret Alice Stewart Campbell, 92, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at The Gardens.

Mrs. Campbell was born January 23, 1929 in Forsyth County and was the daughter of the late George Austin Stewart and Ella Dagenhart Stewart. She was a graduate of Celeste Henkel High School and was married to the late L. Allen Campbell, who passed away February 1, 1997. Together they were members of Western Avenue Baptist Church and she owned Margo’s Beauty Shop.

She is survived by two sons, Rick D. Campbell (Donna) of Statesville, Stuart R. Campbell (Carol) of Statesville; eight grandchildren, Justin Campbell (Mandy), Brandy Engberg (Jerry), David King (Valerie), Jordan Montaigne (Justin), Dana Holden (Carlos), Brittany Fox, Justin Ricciardi, Gabrielle Ricciardi (RJ); seven great grandchildren and one sister, Jo Stewart Lippard.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Marty Kelly Campbell; one grandson, Dan Holden, one brother, Thomas N. Stewart and seven sisters, Hazel Shaver, Polly Bass, Sara Cashion, Georgy Wagner, Mavis Davidson, Brenda Mason and Barbara Jolly.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Spry officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00pm at Western Avenue Baptist Church.
