Lorraine Wagoner

Lorraine Ruth Wagoner, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 17, 2024, after a short time in hospice care.

Lorrie was a great friend, a sister, a Mamaw, and our mother. She raised four strong and independent children: Amy McLaurin (54) North Carolina, Tracy McCandless (56) Colorado, Terri Phillips (61) and Jack Wagoner III (62) both of Little Rock, AR. She taught them to work hard, value education, and always be loyal and loving to familyLorrie was married to Dr. Jack Wagoner, Jr. for 58 years, who preceded her in death. As "Mamaw" to ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, she loved to have her family around her.

Lorrie was known for making "Lorrie's Bread," with homemade pasta carbonara, for her ability always to know which direction was north no matter where she was, and especially for her beautiful quilts. She loved being part of the Quest Quilter's Guild for many years and served as President. Her children and grandchildren will treasure the many beautiful quilts and pieces she made over the years.

Lorrie will be remembered for her devotion and love for Jack and her family, her beautiful piano playing, and her ability to enjoy a good glass of Post Traditional Red Wine. Her laugh was always recognizable and genuine, and anyone who knew her loved to hear it.

Instead of a formal service, Lorrie wanted a gathering of friends to get together and enjoy some fellowship and food from Senor Tequila's as we celebrate her life and her journey home to join her high school sweetheart, Jack. Her family will be gathering at Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock on April 26 for a celebration of life. We'd love to visit and share stories with friends of Lorrie, old and new.

Lorrie's family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the kind words and outpouring of love during this challenging time. She and Jack were both long-time members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas and cherished their Open Door Sunday School class fellowship. Jack and Lorrie also advocated for the Alzheimer's Association, which aims to support awareness to end Alzheimer's.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we kindly request that donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock or the Alzheimer's Association in Lorraine Wagoner's memory.
