Kenneth William Reece

Kenneth William Reece, Jr., 77 of Troutman passed away at his home on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

Mr. Reece was born May 3, 1946, in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Kenneth William Reece, Sr. and Bernice Case Reece. Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Air Force “in country” during the Vietnam War. He received an associate degree from Catawba Valley Technical College and made his career as a manager in the Instrument and Electric Department of McGuire Nuclear Station. In 1983 Kenneth married his beloved wife, Kathryn Price. Together they shared 40 years of marriage. He was a member of the Duck Creek Gun Club and enjoyed golf, shooting skeet and being an all-around handyman.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Barbara “Bobbie” Whiteside and his brother-in-law, Bruce Neal.

Those left to cherish the life and memory of Mr. Reece include his wife, Kathryn, his sons, Todd (Tracy) Reece and Steven Reece, his grandsons Avery and Alex Reece, his granddaughter, Jacey Reece, his great grandchildren, Laiden and Sutton Mosier. He is also survived by his bonus children, stepdaughter, Cynthia (Joe) Julian, and step granddaughter, Jamie Julian. Further survivors include his sisters, Brenda Neal, and Cathy (John) Bowman, brother, Thomas Reece (Sharon), his brother-in-law, William Whiteside, and several special nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life, with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Duck Creek Gun Club, Duck Creek Road, Troutman, NC 28166.
