Katherine "Kat" (Marshall) Ward

Mrs. Katherine Ward, 86 of Statesville, passed away September 3, 2023, at her home.

Kat, as she was affectionately known, was born in Harmony of North Carolina on January 2, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Marshall and Mary Walker Marshall. She attended Harmony High School and was a member at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Kat was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Davidson; her two brothers, Everette Marshall and R.B. Marshall; and her three sisters, Mary Ann Hedrick, Sue Tomlin, and Linda Faughn.

Those left to cherish the life and memory of Kat Ward, include her beloved husband, Clarence “Pete” Ward, her four sisters Carol Horton, Jean Marshall, Sara Williams, and Ruth Jones, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm on Wednesday, September 6, at Mount Bethel Methodist Church, Harmony, with Rev. Lynn Lepley, Rev. Matt Harold and Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends thirty minuets prior to the service, 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
