Karlene Doby

Harriet Karlene Doby, age 83, of Cleveland, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2023. She was the wife of the late Garnet Doby and the daughter of the late Sidney Guy and Julia Curtis Smith.

She was a faithful member of Elmwood First Baptist Church. She was disability retired after many years in the cattle and farming business. Karlene loved working in her garden and flowers, loved her church and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her two sons, Alan Doby and Bradley Doby (Brenda); her daughter, Angela Robinson (Todd); and four sisters, Patricia Warren, Judy Jordan, Barbara Caldwell (Dennis), and Sidney Smith. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Elmwood First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Lafae and Rev. Dale Gryder officiating.  Burial will follow at the Restoration Church cemetery in the Woodleaf community. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Elmwood church from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.
