K. Wayne Thompson

Mr. Kermit Wayne Thompson, 83 of Troutman, passed away August 12, 2023 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.

Wayne, as he was known, was born in Iredell County on November 7, 1939. He was the son of the late Forrest Thompson and Sarah Ruth Sherrill Thompson. Wayne was a member of the Masons and received a service award during his time and retired from Food One.

In addition to his mother and father, Wayne was also proceeded in death by his sisters Janet Davidson and Glenda Scripture.

Those left to cherish the life and memory of Wayne include his wife, Carol Thompson and his daughters, Carla Thompson of Matthews, NC, Carmen Gibson (David) of Mooresville, NC and Lisa Miller (Robert) of Claremont, NC. He was also survived by his grandson David “Brandon” Gibson of Concord, NC as well as his brother Tommy Thompson and sister Sidale Robinson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephew.

The family will have a register available for signing for those that would like to show their condolences on Monday August 14, 2023 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home.
