He was a member of the Statesville Country Club and loved going on golf trips and playing in tournaments with his many friends. He started his own golf tournament played for over 50 years, affectionately known as the “Boo”, and was a multi-year winner of the coveted red jacket of “The Mashters” golf tournament played annually among his friends in Florida.  He was a great supporter and constant presence at his grandchildren’s sports and activities traveling many miles over the years to watch their games. In his later years, he also dearly loved and spent time with his grand dogs, Dixie and Chloe. He was a good friend to, and sweet presence for, many and will be greatly missed.
