Dayle Nash Lipe, 75, of Troutman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Iredell County on June 9, 1935 to Arleene Nash Lipe and the late Henry Hoyle Lipe and was married to the late Vernell Elmore Lipe. He attended Statesville City schools and was self-employed as an automotive mechanic. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Chris D. Lipe (Karen) of Statesville; a daughter, Lori Lipe, of the home; three sisters, Leta Goforth (D.W.) and Nell Pope, both of Statesville, and Sue Cook of Mocksville; and three grandchildren, Mason Hollifield, Cole Lipe and Kendell Lipe. In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ometta Harris. A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 3-5:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville with the Rev. David Troutman and the Rev. Douglas Goforth officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. We wish to thank the staff at Davis Regional Medical Center and Gordon Hospice House for the care they gave our father.
