William Gene Bradford, 89, of Mooresville, passed away on April 19, 2024.
Gene was born on March 4, 1935, in Iredell County, to the late William L. Bradford and Willie Adams Bradford. He graduated Scotts High School in 1953 and worked for Thomasville Furniture as plant manager for over 40 years. Gene loved playing the guitar, woodworking and painting and was in a softball and bowling league.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by the mother of his child, Barbara Hartline Bradford; his sisters, Nancy Sue Presnell and Mildred Elliott; and his step-sons, Tony Haithcock and Douglas Whitley.
Those left to cherish the life of Gene is his wife, Lois Haithcock Bradford; daughter, Debbie Eades (Johnny); step-sons, Jerry Haithcock (Kathy) and Melvin Whitley (Shelly); grandson, Dustin Redmond (Kalie); great grandchildren, Bexlee Redmond and Riggs Redmond; step-grandchildren, Doug, Bryan, Jacob, Kayla, and Timothy Whitley; step-great grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Whitley; sisters, Betty James, Rosa Daniels, Joyce Jolly (John); and brother, Gary Bradford (Peggy).
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church of Statesville with Dermont Crabtree and Chris Haizlip officiating. The family will meet with friends prior to the service at 1:00. The burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
