William Earl Black

William Earl Black of Statesville, NC, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, after a long illness.

William was born on February 8, 1940, in Copley, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mildred Black.

In addition to his loving parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shirley; son, Billy and his grandson, Tyler Anderson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Terri Hastings; grandsons, Chad (Ranee) Ancona, Daniel (Tiffany) Ancona; six great-grandchildren and ten brothers and sisters.

Bill spent most of his life as a Copley, Ohio resident, always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors, family and friends. He will be sadly missed.

Special thanks and appreciation to Bill’s brother, David (Rona) Black, for their loving care shown to Bill and Shirley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
