Wayne Edward Harris

Mr. Wayne Edward Harris, 70, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, May 27, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Harris was born December 23, 1948 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Ed and Josephine Speece Harris. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School and served honorably in the US Army. In 1977, he married Mary Ann Minnish Harris, who survives of Statesville. He worked for the City of Statesville as a fireman for 12 years and later worked for Weaver McGuire. He was a loving husband and father, loyal to his friends and family and was very partial to his golden retriever, Wilson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lori Harris Gilleland (Michael) of Statesville, and two sisters, Danna Martin and Pam Johnson both of Statesville. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Donald Ray Hill, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Troutman Funeral Home with Rev. JR Speece officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
