Walda N. Kostick passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, North Carolina.
A graveside service officiated by Rabbi Andrew Ettin will be held on Monday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 114 N. Oakwood Dr., Statesville, NC.
Walda is survived by her son Michael Schlesinger (Stacey) and her beloved grandchildren Jacob, Jon, and Sophie.
She was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Harriet Nisoff, her brother Joel Nisoff, and her sister Bari Mattison.
She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her love of family, her curiosity about the world, and the humor and warmth she brought to every stage of her life.
Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, whose compassionate care brought comfort and dignity during her final days.
