Vivian Annett Barr

Feb 24, 1943 — Jul 15, 2026

Mooresville

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Vivian Barr, who peacefully departed this life on July 15th, 2026, at the age of 83. Vivian was a beloved wife of 63 years, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Born on February 24th, 1943, in Greenville, SC, Vivian was the cherished daughter of Lucie Mae Bryant. She grew up surrounded by friends and loved ones, developing the values of compassion, resilience, and generosity that she carried with her throughout her life.

Vivian dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She found joy in her children, grandchildren, and taking care of her many dogs and turtle. She showed her love through food, feeding anyone who came into her home which was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love, where everyone felt welcome.

Those who knew Vivian will remember her for her fiery personality, her love for her family, the fresh lipstick kisses she would leave on her grandkids known as "Mimi marks". She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, valued, and loved, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives from her family to strangers in the grocery stores.

Vivian is lovingly survived by her husband Melvin Barr, her children Cynthia Poe, Christopher Barr, Tammy Kralovic, her grandchildren Matthew and Andrew Poe, Andrea Kralovic, and Sophia, Jackson, and Preston Barr, who will forever cherish her memory and the many lessons she shared. She was preceded in death by Her daughter Cheryl Barr, her brother Donald Burton, and her mother Lucie Bryant.

A celebration of Vivian's life will be held on Sunday, July 19th 2026 with the receiving of friends at 2pm and the service starting at 3pm at Troutman Funeral Home with a graveside service following for anyone who would like to attend at Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life, share memories, and celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Vivian's love lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain a blessing, and she will be deeply missed until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to Memory and Movement Charlotte (Mmclt.org). They were extremely caring, compassionate, and helpful in our understanding of Vivian’s condition from the very beginning.
