Virginia Morrison Rumple

Mrs. Virginia Morrison Rumple, 91, of Aldersgate Methodist Retirement Community of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010. She was born in Iredell County on July 6, 1918, to the late David Neil and Macie L. Morrison. She was a housewife who loved to travel, and she enjoyed gardening, sewing and church activities. She is survived by a son, Thomas Paul Rumple, Jr.; a daughter, Harriet Rumple Schroeder; a sister, Martha N. Morrison Pethtal; and three grandchildren, Duane Paul Schroeder, John Thomas Rumple, and Scott Kenneth Rumple. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Thomas Paul Rumple and by her brother, Elbert Fleming Morrison. A visitation will be held from 4 until 5 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Troutman, on Thursday, July 1, 2010. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Miller officiating.
