Tony Ony Wallace, 76, of Troutman, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Davis Regional Medical Center. Born in Iredell County on October 31, 1933, he was the son of the late George Washington and Maggie Steelman Wallace. He served our country in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of New Perth A.R.P. Church and the Lois Hood/L.A. Brown Bible class. He retired due to disability from Troutman Industries. He is survived by his wife, Elton Rash Wallace; a sister, Hester Wallace Parker and husband, David; a brother, Thomas G. Wallace and wife, Betty; a nephew, Steven G. Wallace and wife, Vicky; a niece Pat Wallace Hollar and husband, J.J.; a great nephew, Zachery Wallace; and two great nieces, Jeannie Gantt Vandyke and husband, Joey and Kelly Gantt Hutchinson and husband, Brian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille W. Bowles and Doris W. White. A memorial service celebrating the life of Tony Ony Wallace will held at 2 p.m. today at the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sherer officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
