Tony Lee Brewer

Tony Lee Brewer, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home.

Tony was born on May 18, 1944 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Gentry Lee Brewer and Willa Dean Williams Brewer. He attended Statesville City schools and also La Salle University for Drafting. On September 13, 1963, he was married to Beulah Mae Stout Brewer, who survives. Tony was self employed as a building contractor for many years and later, before retiring, was a NC home inspector. He was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church for fifty-two years where he served as a deacon and also worked with the youth. He sang in the choir and at one time in a quartet. He enjoyed singing, working with old cars, had restored a 1957 Chevrolet, and doing cabinet and finishing work. He also enjoyed going golfing from time to time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Brewer.

Tony is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beulah Mae Stout Brewer, a son, Tracy Lee Brewer, his daughter, Meredith B. Ballard (Paul), granddaughter, Karleigh B Hall (Randy), grandsons, Hunter and Jackson Ballard. He is also survived by sisters, Judy B. Lance of Florida, Willa Dean Sigmon (John) of Statesville, sister-in-law, Sylvia Brewer of Statesville along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Holleman, Rev. Carl Williams and Rev. Jonathon Overcash officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
