It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tina Lynn Loftis Sherrill, 68, of Statesville, NC. She entered her heavenly home at the Gordon Hospice House on Monday, December 8, 2025, after a long courageous health battle.
Born on April 1, 1957, to the late Reid Loftis and Carolyn Little Raffie, Tina was a beloved wife, mother, memaw, aunt, and sister. She lived a life defined by unwavering kindness, deep devotion to those she loved, and a tenacious spirit that carried her through every challenge with grace and strength. To know Tina was to witness resilience in its truest form. Whether offering support to others or facing life’s hardships with quiet courage, she exemplified what it meant to live fully and fight fiercely for what matters.
Tina was a graduate of Statesville Senior High and an active member of Chapel Hill UMC where she will be greatly missed.
Tina met her husband Steve years ago in their early twenties when she was a manager at McDonalds. They shared many memories and fun times together. She was later a long-time employee at Intercraft Industries in Statesville and then on to Farm Bureau Insurance in Statesville.
Tina loved her family dearly and especially her five grandchildren. She loved playing games with them and attending their soccer games and other activities. She loved flowers and working in her flower beds at home.
In addition to her parents, Tina is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Loftis and her sister Angela Loftis.
Tina is survived by her husband and best friend of 46 years, Steve Sherrill; daughters, Melissa Moorefield (Philip) and Stephanie Morrison (Pete); grandchildren, Ethan and Colby Moorefield and Connor, Sydney, and Luke Morrison; brother, Danny Loftis (Annette); and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish the memories of laughter, wisdom, and warmth shared throughout the years. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she has touched and the love she gave so generously.
