Thomas Franklin Parlier

Thomas Franklin “Frank” Parlier passed away August 4, 2025.

Frank was born March 27, 1933, to Ethel and Worth Parlier in Statesville, NC. He graduated from Statesville High School in 1951 and served in the US Army for two years at Fort Lee, Virginia.

After his military service, Frank was employed as an estimator at Kewaunee Scientific Furniture Company until his retirement, after 35 years as a sales manager. He then went on to pursue his love for woodworking and farming in Olin, NC. He enjoyed donating his time and skills to building and repairing antiques for Iredell Museum, Wilkes Heritage Museum and Fort Defiance Museum outside Lenoir, NC. Many friends and family have been recipients of furniture and bowls, crafted by Frank as gifts.

Frank also took great pride in mentoring young Cody Medlin for many years until standing in as Cody’s best man at his wedding.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Dot Sims, Bill, Paul, Clyde and Joe Parlier, He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey, in 1963.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Carolyn; son, Bentley (Mary); stepson, James Paul Parlier; foster child, Anita Street; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 9 at Tabor Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder for over 40 years. Grandson Willie Parlier will be officiating.

Memorials may be made in Frank’s memory to Tabor Presbyterian Church, 708 Tabor Road, Olin, NC 28660.
