Thomas Adams, Sr.

Thomas Roy Adams, Sr., 87, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Thomas was born March 2, 1937, in Alexander County, to the late Thomas Ransom Adams and Helen Rimmer Adams. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the American Legion. He loved cars, motorcycles, and watching ball games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jewell Bicknell, Catherine Collishaw, and Betty Seymour O’Brian; brother, James Larry Adams.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Ruth Ortiz Adams; daughter, Kelly Adams Brown (Tom); son, Thomas Roy Adams, Jr. (Kim); grandchildren, Chris Kerley, Robin Bachnik (Pawel), Amber Cashion, Brandon Adams (Caitlyn), and Carlos Adams; great-grandchildren, Chase (Georgia), MaKayla, Dru, Jaleigh, Kyle, and Wyatt; great-great granddaughter, Kyndall; sister, Jane Rigano.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21 at 1:30 pm at Houston Road Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Chancee Carter. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.
