Teddy Eugene Hensley

Funeral Service will be conducted at Troutman Funeral Home on Thursday August 27th for Teddy Eugene Hensley, age 79 of Statesville, NC. Viewing for visitors will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 pm.

Teddy passed away on August 23rd, 2026, at Gordon’s Hospice House in Statesville NC, following a short stay at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.

Pastor Tim Whitener will officiate the funeral service. Teddy was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1966 through 1969.

Teddy will be cremated following service and then buried at Crestview Baptist church Cemetery in a private family service.

Born August 28th, 1946, in Roderfield WV. He was the son of the late William Hezekiah Hensley and Anna Mae (Norton) Hensley. He was the grandson of the late Charles Herman Hensley and Flora Mae, and James Wiley Nortan and Ora Lee Norton of Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by 1 baby daughter Glenda Hensley, One older brother David Hensley, and one younger sister Alma Dean (Bobby) England.

Survivors include his wife Glenna P. (Wooten) Hensley, Sons: Teddy Jr. (Wendy) Hensley, William “Scooter” A. (Jessie) Hensley, Grandsons: Jordan N. (Kayla) Hensley, Nathan J. (Courtney) Hensley, Great-Grand Children: Raelynn Castaneda, Derby Castaneda, Graycen Hensley, Daniella Hensley. As well as Siblings and In-Laws: Caroline (David) Hensley, Becky (Charlie) Mullins, Brenda (Russell, Ray) Moore, Kenneth (Amy) Hensley, Loretta “Sissy” (Bob) Morin, Noleta Harris, and Jamie Hensley, along with multiple nieces, nephews and extended loved ones.

The family would like to give special thanks to The Dialysis Center Statesville, Baptist Hospital, and Gordon’s Hospice House.
