Tara Spillane Weikel

Tara Spillane Weikel, 43, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Reading, Pa. on September 2, 1968 to Bob and Dee Spirelis Spillane of Cornelius. She graduated from East Carolina University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Communications. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jay Weikel, of the home; two sons, Josh and Zack Weikel; her sister, Kirsten Spillane Atkinson and family, of Matthews; and her grandmother, Sophia Spirelis, of Huntersville. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Moses and the Rev. Jerry Barber officiating. The family will also receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home located at 345 N. Main St, Troutman, NC.
