Tam Wingler

March 31, 1920 - July 10, 2013 Tam Wingler, 93, of Statesville, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on March 31, 1920 to the late Elijah and Levia Wingler. He worked most of his life as a carpenter. He is survived by his children Reta Lorene Hobbs (Charlie) of Troutman, Jerry Wingler of Statesville, Leroy Wingler of Statesville, Dale Wingler (Wanda) of Statesville, and Mark Wingler (Ann) of Statesville; his brother Jack Wingler of Kannapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Grey Barker Wingler, one sister and 10 brothers. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be send to Gordon Hospice House of Statesville, 2347 Simonton Rd.
