Sylvia Levan Lackey

Sylvia Levan Lackey, 75, of Statesville, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Sylvia was born February 12, 1950, in Iredell County, to the late Floyd David Levan and Lillie Mae Poteat Levan. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School, and she was the Vice President and co-owner of Statesville Stained Glass.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Matthew Lackey in 1980.

Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory are her beloved husband, Dennis Lackey; her sisters, Bonita Silvers, Judy Cartner (JP) and Peggy Tyson (Ken); sister-in-law, Donna Haithcox (Doug); brother-in-law, Rick Lackey (Pam); special aunt, Naomi Stikeleather, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 20 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Oakdale Baptist Church, 585 Mocksville Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625.
