Susan "Sue" (Bauman) Welling

Susan “Sue” Welling, 65, of Troutman North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana and friend to so many.  She loved taking care of others, from her children’s friends that knew her as “Mama Sue”, to volunteering for countless causes and sharing her love of cooking and entertaining.  Her generosity knew no bounds and her faith was a true testament to the life she lived.

Sue is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Harold Welling, of 15 years; her mother, Barbara Bauman; her children, Jenny (Justin) Higbee of Charlotte, Andrew (Sarah) Light of Clemmons, and Daniel (Connie) Light of Lexington; grandchildren, Bradley (Jessica) Huffman, Addison Higbee, Ryan Light, Caroline Light and Bryce Higbee; siblings, Brad (Elaine) Bauman, Teri (Gary) Nydegger and Patti (Bob) Larson as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bauman.

A service celebrating Sue’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman, NC at 11am on Saturday, April 1st.
