Susan (Pharr) Sherrill

Susan Pharr Sherrill, 72 of Statesville, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023.

Susan was born February 23, 1951, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Douglas Marshall Pharr and Helen Montgomery Pharr.  She was a graduate of Statesville High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University.  She was employed as the Book Rental Manager at Western Carolina for 20 years.  While living in Cullowhee she was a 4H Leader with the Cullowhee 4H Club and an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Sylva.  In Statesville she was a member of the First ARP Church, she loved baking, gardening, canning, crafts, and scrapbooking.    Susan was married for 48 years to Michael Lee Sherrill who passed away in 2022.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Montgomery (Monty) Pharr.

Those left to cherish Mrs. Sherrill’s memory include her son, Chris Sherrill, his wife Sheila Sherrill, a grandson, Andrew Sherrill, her best friend, Lessie Everton, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at First ARP Church, in Statesville, Rev. Charles Evans will officiate.  The family will greet friends from 11:00 am -12:00 pm at the church.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Oakwood Cemetery.
