It is with great sadness, yet with the hope found in Christ, that we announce the passing of Susan Rebecca Owen Pugh, who entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born in Salisbury, North Carolina, Susan was the beloved daughter of Norman Owen and Sara Owen, both of whom preceded her in death.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Craig Pugh; her children, Scott and Jessica Graham, Kelly Pugh, and Daniel and Erin Pugh; her cherished grandchildren, Adeleigh, Paisley, and Scheyer Graham, and Hazel Pugh; her sister, Sally Renee Owen; and many beloved extended family members.
Susan found joy in caring for her family, tending her garden, cooking, reading, and crocheting and knitting. She expressed her love for others through her generosity, creativity, and servant's heart.
A faithful member of New Sterling ARP Church, Susan served for many years as a pianist, youth leader, and worker in the women's ministry. She also shared the love of Christ as a Good News Club leader at Sharon School and participated in several mission trips to Belize. Known for her ability to memorize Scripture through music, Susan faithfully used her gifts to encourage others and point them to Christ.
Susan will be remembered for her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, church, and friends. Her life was a testimony to God's grace and a blessing to all who knew her.
Though her family and friends grieve her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
A life celebration will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at New Sterling ARP Church, with Pastor Boone McAuley and Rev. Dr. Earl Linderman officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the celebration service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Sterling ARP Church in support of the ministries that were dear to Susan's heart.
Arrangements for Mrs. Susan Pugh are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
