Susan Miller Edwards

May 21, 1964 - Sept. 14, 2015 Susan Elizabeth Miller Edwards, 51, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. She was born on May 21, 1964 in Iredell County to Bobby and the late Carolyn Sue Miller. She graduated from South Iredell High School in 1982 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UNC-Charlotte in 1986. She was employed by Iredell Memorial Hospital and by Iredell County as a correctional nurse. Mrs. Edwards also worked as a case management nurse until she was disabled by her health. She was very much a "people person" who enjoyed caring for others and was very dedicated to her career and her patients. On September 29, 1990, she married her loving husband, Timothy "Tim" Wayne Edwards, in St. Thomas Virgin Islands. She loved her family and friends and had a special love for animals particularly her own dogs and cats. She also enjoyed spending time in the mountains. In addition to her husband Tim, she is also survived by her father, Bobby Little Miller of Harmony; sister, Tamara (Bryan) Macy of Winston Salem; niece, Meredith Anne Macy; mother-in-law, Kaye Edwards; sister-in-law, Robin Edwards; special aunts, Jo (Lewis) Jenkins, Ann (Leon) Marlowe, and Mona (Jim) Elder; uncle, J.D. Benfield; and a number of cousins. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services celebrating Susan’s life will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Andrea Conder officiating.
