November 25, 1944 - August 5, 2017 Susan Kay Brown, 72, of J. Iverson Riddle Development Center of Morganton, NC, formerly of Troutman, passed away August 5, 2017 at J. Iverson Riddle Development Center. She was born November 25, 1944 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Carl Reid Brown and Carrie Jo Lewis Brown. Survivors include a brother, Wayne Brown of Johnson City, TN; sister, Sandra B. Harris and husband Bill of Mooresville, NC; nieces, Cheryl B. Turman of Johnson City, TN, and Kimberly H. Lingerfelt of Lexington, NC; nephews, Chris Brown of Johnson City, TN, and David Harris of Fuquay Varina, NC. The family will receive friends at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at New Perth ARP Church Cemetery with Chaplain Carol Morgan officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date at J. Iverson Riddle Development Center. Memorial donations may be made to Assure the Future - Chapel, at J. Iverson Riddle Development Center, 300 Enola Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
