Stephen Randall “Randy” Johnson, 74, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, January 25, 2021 due to declining health.

Randy was born March 6, 1946 in Iredell County and was the son of the late G. H. “Mutt” Johnson and Mary Bost Johnson. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and served in the US Army for two years in Thailand. He previously enjoyed a career at Beaunit Industries and Intercraft, Inc. He enjoyed watching “westerns” in his recliner, all sports especially NASCAR and going out to eat with his cousin Jim Lentz.

He is survived by two brothers, Ron Johnson and wife, Sandy of Statesville, Rick Johnson and fiancée, Susan Zwirn of New York; two nephews, Brian Johnson (Susan), Michael Johnson (Theresa), along with nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. Randy will lie in state on Friday before the funeral service.
