Sr. John Robert Moore

Mr. John Robert Moore, Sr., 72, of Troutman, passed away December 19, 2012 at Maple Leaf Health Care. He was born in Lake City, SC to a Christian family on August 30, 1940, the son of the late Rev. Alvin Thomas Moore and Mary Belle Crews Moore. John worked in many different areas of the construction industry during his life. He served our country honorably with the 82nd Airborne and was deployed to Germany in 1958 with the 11th Airborne Division. Mr. Moore is survived by his sons, John R. Moore, II and his wife Bonnie, of Troutman, James Moore and Melvin Joe Moore, both of Statesville; three brothers, William C. Moore, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC, Paul Moore, Sr. of Lake City, SC and Melvin Joseph Moore, Sr. of Richmond, Va.; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Wesley Moore, and one sister, Annie Jane Blakely. A private service will be held for the family.
