Sonia Ponce

Sonia Guadalupe Cesar Ponce, 50, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Sonia was born in Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico on April 30, 1974 to Pablo Cesar Alba and Maria De Jesus Ponce Aguilar.

Left to cherish Sonia’s memory are her husband, Omar Escobar Ochoa; daughters, Wendy Gant and Itzayana Ashcraft; sons-in-law, Matthew Gant and Tyler Ashcraft; grandchildren, Elijah, Samuel, and Izabella Ashcraft; special friend, Chris “Country Boy” Cartner; and her special fur baby, Petey.

Sonia worked at Montessori School with her good friend Mr. John, who was always very helpful and kind to her. She had an unwavering dedication and love for her work. Everywhere she went she made people laugh and fall in love with her kindness and infectious laughter. Her ultimate love was her home where she found her love for crafting and always made home-cooked meals for her family. When she wasn’t at home, you would be sure to find her at the nearest candy store or your local thrift store. Always keeping chocolate and candy in her purse. Above all, she was a hard-working, dedicated mother who loved her daughters and her husband. They were her whole world, whom she lived for.
