Shirley Horton Parker

Shirley Horton Parker, 89 of Troutman passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home.

She was born in Troutman, October 20, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Leon and Ada Horton. Shirley was married to Max for 64 years. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman and enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and participating in the Women’s Circle. Shirley was also actively involved in Troutman Help Ministries.

She graduated from Troutman High School and worked as a Bookkeeper/Secretary for Troutman School for 32 years.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Max Parker. She is survived by her son Tony Parker and wife Gina, daughter Sandra Parker, and granddaughters Aly and Ashton Parker.

The memorial service will be Tuesday, January 6th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman at 2:00 pm.

The family would like to thank all of Shirley’s faithful friends that have supported her over the previous months.
