Shirley Mills

May 4, 1938 - May 25, 2018 Shirley Ann Parlier Mills, 80, of Troutman, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was born May 4, 1938 in Iredell County to the late Venna Norris and William Ray Parlier. Shirley and her late husband, Joe, were co-owners of Metal-Rite Fabrications, Inc. in Troutman. She was a gifted caretaker who lovingly cared for family and friends throughout her life and was a devout Christian lady who was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She enjoyed trips to the beach where she particularly enjoyed attending shows and loved spending time with her cousins. She is survived by her devoted son, Charlie R. Mills of Troutman; daughters, Deborah (Craig) Sherrill of Statesville and Pamela (Scottie) Murdock of Troutman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her special grand puppy "Peppermint Patty" whom she lovingly called "Pooh." In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wiley Joe Mills; 14-month old son, Larry; sister, Mildred Thomas; and brother, William Henry Parlier. The family will receive friends at Shiloh Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Lynn Kunkle officiating. Interment will be in the Shiloh church cemetery.
