Shirley Miller

December 12, 1935 - August 8, 2017 Shirley Ann Sipes Miller, 81, of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 12, 1935 in Iredell County to the late John Sipes and Bertha Troutman Sipes. Shirley loved to be outside, watching birds and gardening flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her precious grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters Ila, Lee, Mary-Helen, and Nancy and four brothers, John, Ray, Allen and Earnest. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Kelly Miller; sons, Richard (Kim Christine) Miller, John (Debra) Miller, and Jody (Rachel) Miller; sister, Virginia (Robert) Winecoff; twenty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all. A memorial service will be held at Troutman 1st United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 with Rev. Jeffrey Hamrick officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to Women in Mission, First UMC Troutman, P.O.
