Shannon Gantt

Shannon Lee Gantt, 71, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2023. Shannon was born on March 11, 1952, to the late Lynn Rupert Gantt and Virginia Marlowe Gantt.  In addition to his parents, Shannon was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Michael Gantt.  Those left to cherish Shannon's memory are his wife, Kathryn; his son, Joshua Gantt; his granddaughter, Madalyn Gantt; his brothers, Lynn Wayne (Nellie) and Mark; his sister, Wanda Gantt Redmond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  Shannon also had two honorary children, Bill, and Ashleigh Edwards. Shannon graduated from North Iredell High School and Catawba Valley Technical College.  He owned and operated C&G Towing for 50 years with whom he started with his lifelong friend, Butch Cartner.  Shannon was noted for his professionalism and promptitude. On May 7th, 2011, Shannon married the love of his life Kathryn Foster Gantt.  Together they resurrected Skyuka Stables in 2019 where they breed and train American Saddlebreds. Amongst his favorites was his "Precious" Cloud.  He also adored his "Sweet Little Girl" Penny, the beagle, who would go on daily adventures with him. Shannon delighted in listening to and attending Andrea Bocelli concerts, singing, and playing his banjo. Shannon's life was a beacon of how to live with purpose and love. A service remembering Shannon will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5th, at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 740 N. Center St. Statesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
