Sarah Thompson

April 27, 1919 - October 3, 2017 Sarah Sherrill Thompson, 98, of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Davis Regional Medical Center. Sarah was born on April 27, 1919 to the late late Guy and Lillie Sherrill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest Thompson, and five brothers. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Thompson and Wayne (Carol) Thompson; daughter, Sidale Thompson Robinson; sister, Summa West, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sarah worked for Troutman Shirt Company for over 35 years, where she actually made pants. She adored her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all. A memorial service will be held at New Perth ARP Church on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Hazen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sarah’s memory may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Sarah Thompson.
