Sarah Ruth Caldwell Brown, 77, of Troutman, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Autumn Care of Statesville. She was born on January 8, 1933 to the late William and Clara Elizabeth Marlin Caldwell. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, a substitute teacher and a member of Thyatira Presbyterian Church and New Perth A.R.P. Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James F. Brown, of the home; a son, William Alan Brown of Raleigh; a daughter, Patricia Ann Brown Reavis and husband, Phillip, of Greenville, SC; one sister, Clara Elizabeth Caldwell of Laurinburg, NC; and a granddaughter, Ann Kerr Reavis of Greenville, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Marie Caldwell and Mary Anna Caldwell Lingle; and five brothers, William Theodore Caldwell, Joseph Marlin Caldwell, Clyde Mitchel Caldwell, Daniel Leonard Caldwell and John Robert Caldwell, Sr. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon at the home located at 415 Wagner St. in Troutman. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at New Perth A.R.P. Church Cemetery in Troutman. A memorial service celebrating the life of Sarah Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at New Perth A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Robert Sherer and the Rev. William Anderson officiating.
