Sandra (Morones) Atwood

Sandra Atwood, 65, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital around family who loved her.

Sandra was born November 9, 1956, in Carrizo Springs, TX and was the daughter of the late Juan and Amelda Morones. She attended schools in Chicago, IL and on November 22, 1986, she married her soul mate Larry Steven Atwood, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Antonia Stines (Noah), Diana Morones (Brandon Shuford), Josephine Reece (Daniel), Robert Atwood (Adrienne); nine grandchildren, Jaxson Barcelo (Tara), Carlos Huerta, Jadiyah Scott, DeAndra Scott, Adam Reece, Austin Reece, Damian Cook, Justin Cook, Steven Atwood; three brothers, Gilbert, John and Tony Morones and four sisters, Nancy Garcia, Rebekah Morones, Olivia Morones, Dhalia Sims.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Eagles Refuge Ministries with Pastor Jeremiah Moore and Senior Pastor Harold Mash officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
