Samuel O'Brien Ostwalt

Samuel O’Brien Ostwalt, 76, of Troutman, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Salisbury VA Medical Center.

O’Brien was born August 28, 1949, in Iredell County to the late Samuel Lee Tell Ostwalt and Rebecca Rader Ostwalt. He was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Vanessa Ostwalt.

Those left to cherish O’Brien’s memory are his brothers, Barry Ostwalt and Alvin Ostwalt, both of Troutman; nephew, Alexander Ostwalt of St. Paul, Minnesota; niece, Tatiana Ostwalt of South Korea; several cousins including Sammy Hensley of Troutman and Eva Dawn Massi of Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.
