Sally Jane Troutman McDaniels

Sally Jane Troutman McDaniels, 85, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at her home.

Jane was born May 12, 1940 to the late Reuben Eugene Troutman and Dorothy Lee Gilleland Troutman. She graduated from Troutman High School and went on to work for the Barium Springs Children’s Home, managing food service for 30 years.

She volunteered her time for her community, serving as leader for her 4H Club and Girl Scout Leader for Troop #298, as well as being a member of the ABWA Fort Dobbs Chapter.

Jane was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Statesville, where she served as VBS director and leader of her Women’s Christian group for many years.

She showed her love for her friends and family in many ways including baking and decorating cakes for special occasions and sending handwritten cards. Jane loved spending time with and cooking for her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Willie James “Bill” McDaniels; son, Jeffrey Wayne McDaniels (Lorie); daughters, Teresa Diane Beaver, and Cynthia Jane McDaniels (fiancé, Dodd Russ); grandsons, Jeffrey Wayne McDaniels and Jordan Alexander Poe; and sister-in-law, Anna Troutman.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Steve Beaver; her brothers, Billy Ray Troutman, Ted Lee Troutman, and Jack Eugene Troutman; and two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Troutman and Eva Troutman.

Services to celebrate Jane’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Troutman officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
