Ruby Bell Morrison

Ruby Bell Morrison, 92, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at her home.

Ruby was born on January 21, 1934, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Fred Bell and Sarah Travis Bell. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and a faithful member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. Ruby worked in the cafeteria at West Iredell High School, where she enjoyed serving students and staff. She was also a loving caregiver who helped raise her nieces and nephews, leaving a lasting impact on their lives through her kindness, dedication, and love.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel “Albert” Morrison on January 12, 2026; brothers, George, Glen and Bobby Morrison; sisters, Vernie Sherrill, Freddie Lazenby, Shirley Campbell, and Betty Troutman; and granddaughter, Rebecca Morrison.

Those left to cherish Ruby’s memory are her daughter, Robin M. Ireland; sons, Samuel “Sam” Morrison Jr. (Sandy) and Andrew “Andy” Morrison; grandchildren, Kelsey Tart (Edward), Kasey Ireland and Tyler Morrison (Morgan); great-grandchildren, Lucas Tart, and Maddox and Levi Morrison and one on the way; step grandchildren, Edwina Sanner and Matt Sanner; step great-grandchild, Breanna Sanner; brother, Tommy Bell; and special caregiver, Deanie Pittman.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20 at Western Avenue Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. Jeff Spry officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Avenue Baptist Church, 1206 Museum Road, Statesville NC 28625.
