Roy Lee Hargrove

Roy Lee Hargrove, 88, of Statesville, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at his residence.

Roy was born November 2, 1932 in La Center, KY and was the son of the late Elbert Lee Hargrove and Alma Anna Madding. He served in the US Navy and was married for 49 years to the late Joan Grace Hargrove. After 33 years, he retired from Clark Equipment. He loved the outdoors, fishing, yardwork and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by seven children, Lori Harper (Gary) of Valdese, NC, Teri Kelso (David) of Statesville, Wendy Frey of Mattawan, MI, Valerie Riker (Tony) of Hanover, MI, David Hargrove of Statesville, Danielle Fox (Michael) of Statesville, Rebecca Bulla (Mike) of Statesville, 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters of Barlow, KY.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, one brother and four sisters.

Military graveside services will be held 2:30pm Friday, April 16, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Jake Potter officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm at Troutman Funeral Home.
