Sept. 17, 1956 - Nov. 23, 2015 Ronnie Phillip Goodman, 59, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015. He was born on September 17, 1956 in Iredell County to Bud Phillip and Glenda Kay Jordan Goodman. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School. He served honorably in the US Air Force and worked as a meter reader for the City of Statesville before his decline in health. He was also a lifelong member at Bethel Baptist Church. Ronnie will always be remembered for his "Big Smile". He had a very compassionate heart, loved his family, loved life, and loved the Lord. He worked in his yard and especially enjoyed being outdoors. The highlights of his life were his granddaughter and his best friend. Ronnie never met a stranger and always gave out hugs. He enjoyed every day to the fullest and appreciated everything in life. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Moore (Aaron) of Statesville; brothers, Slade and Cory Goodman (Kim) of Statesville; granddaughter, Laci Kay Blansett; step grandchild, Bryson Moore; special friend, Missy Kyles of Troutman; niece, Ashley Tomlin (Tyler); nephew, Jacob Goodman; special aunts, Carol Phillips and Janice Goodman; special uncle, Randy Jordan (Shelby); and his special cat, Boo Boo. The family will receive friends Friday, November 27th from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Statesville. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Allen Shuler and Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military rites provided by the Patriot Guard. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 1162 East Monbo Rd., Statesville, NC 28677.
