Ronnie Dale Fruia, Sr.

Ronnie Dale Fruia, Sr., 73, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Ronnie was born July 2, 1952, in McDowell County in West Virginia, to the late Joseph Fruia and Kathleen Lambert Fruia. He worked as a coal mine supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Donna Marie Gruszczynski Fruia, who passed on September 18, 2022; sons, Jimmy Fruia and Kelly Fruia; great-granddaughter, Nala Nichols; and brother, Jimmy Fruia.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ronnie Fruia, Jr (Celita), grandchildren, Kristen Fruia, Joseph Fruia, Dillion Nichols and Haylee Nichols; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Fruia and Joe Fruia; and half-brother, Clarence Salyers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Bill Cranfield officiating.
