Ronald “Duck” Norman Wyatt, 60, of Troutman, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Duck was born on January 13, 1966, to the late Everette Eugene Wyatt and Sandra Anderson Wyatt.
A Marine veteran who was known for his patriotism and service to the community, Duck previously served as Troutman town manager, the town’s mayor, and Iredell County register of deeds after retiring from 21 years of service in the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. His law enforcement career included work as a patrol deputy and DARE officer. He retired as a lieutenant.
Duck also served as Iredell County GOP chair nearly five years, served as president of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was active in the Iredell County Republican Men’s Club, the Troutman Exchange Club, Rockwell Amvets, the Iredell County Marine Corps League, and the Union Grove Ruritan Club. Duck coached youth athletics for almost 30 years in various capacities. He served as league chairman for baseball and softball in Southern Iredell County for the Babe Ruth League.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julie Brawley Wyatt; sons, Ethan Cole Wyatt and Parker Jude Wyatt; granddaughter, Elena Wyatt; sisters, Melba Wyatt Alfier (Chuck Jr) and Amanda Marie Wyatt; nieces and nephews, Alex Poole, Lauren DiGorga, Blaine Winslow, Noah Winslow, Grayson Winslow, Mei Li Winslow, and Taylor Brawley; great nephew, Ryder Poole; great niece, Olivia Grace; and Chastity Dillard and Emilee.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a nephew, Lucas Brawley.
A celebration of life service will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #10, 239 Wing Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.
