Robinette Clark Tilley, 77, of Statesville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in the comfort of her home, in the presence of her beloved children.
Robinette was born January 4, 1942 in Transylvania county, NC, to the late Vernon and Dicie Hazel Clark. Robinette has been a Statesville resident for the last 65 years.
To some her last few years would have seemed such a struggle, but to her she persevered with grace and dignity which allowed her to triumph just as she had in all she had ever done.
The day she saw that handsome man named Don Tilley on a Harley at “J.C.'s Toot-N-Tellem” little did she know that together their lives would impact so many.
From their first small garage expanding into two major Harley Davidson dealerships here in the Carolinas, Robinette was a business leader and entrepreneur before she even knew she was pioneering the way for women in leadership roles across this country.
Robinette was the encourager to many, her 'let’s just do it' attitude always brought others up to a place that allowed them to be stronger. Her business accolades span the last 50 years, with the highest achievement awarded in their industry year after year.
Robinette was always community minded, always giving to charities and making sure that her community was always supported. Whenever and where ever there was a need Robinette was always there showing her support, she received countless awards for her acts of kindness.
Robinette smile was truly contagious. She was known to light up the room just with her very presence. Her kind and compassionate heart was something that never went unnoticed. Robinette leaves a mark on us all that will never be erased.
Robinette would tell you one of her greatest accomplishments was her family. She was happiest when they were close by and gathered together, she was so proud of them all.
Robinette is preceded in death by her husband William Donald Tilley. She is survived by her three children, Donna Tilley Pierce, Denise Tilley Levan (Terry), William Derek Tilley. Five grandchildren Cortney Pierce Toothaker (Mikey), Chase Barton Levan (Crystal), Kyle William Pierce, Chance Tilley Levan, Chandler Clark Levan.
