Robert "Bud" Or "Pat" Patterson

Robert “Bud” or “Pat” Earl Patterson, 82, of Statesville, NC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 6, at Wake Forest Baptist. Robert was born on May 26, 1941, to his parents, Paul Wifford Patterson and Ruby Mae Mason Patterson.

Robert attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1960. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany for 2 and a half years. He then worked as an electrical lineman with Energy United for 27 years until retiring in 1998. After retirement, he worked at Lakewood Golf Course before retiring again in 2019. He was a member at Concord Presbyterian Church. Bud was a member of the Iredell Co. Beekeepers Association and the Piedmont Woodcarvers. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer. Bud supported any Iredell Co. athletics and he coached soccer, softball, and was a member of the West Iredell Band boosters.

Cherishing his memory are his wife; Jane Marlin Patterson, one son; Patric Patterson (Josie), one daughter; Jennie Karelin (Keith), grandchildren; Donavin Jason, Gabriel Jason (Amalia), Kathryn Kim (Hyong), and great-grandchildren; Sage Jason and Eden Kim, his nieces; Paulette Inscoe and Crystal Allison, great-nephews; Brandon Inscoe, Michael Inscoe, and Noah Kennedy, and his beloved furbaby, Niki.

A funeral service will be held at Concord Presbyterian Church at 11:00am on Saturday, December 9, 2023, with Rev. Liz Troyer and Rev. Dr. Kyle Goodman officiating. A burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
